Dotson Troy Burton Edwards charged with Criminal Possession of Drugs. The Billings Police were responding to the area of Nottingham Circle for what dispatch described as a suspicious man peeping into windows.
Billings Police Officer Edwards responded. Not finding anything suspicious, Officer Edwards drove onto Governor's Blvd.
Officer Edwards observed a man who fit the description given as wearing a black hat, jeans, and a T-shirt.
The suspect was sitting on the steps of 1545 Governor's Blvd. Officer Edwards was able to ID the suspect as Dotson Troy Burton Edwards.
Dotson Edwards---no relation to Officer Edwards, stated that he was looking for his niece.
After Officer Edwards completed an NCIC records search, he learned that Dotson Edwards had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Dotson Edwards was taken into custody without incident and remanded to the Yellowstone County jail.
At the detention facility, Jail personnel located a baggie of METH which field-tested positive for METH.
