Helena Mt., --  According to the  Helena Police Department Chief of Police (interim),  at approximately 2:21 PM the 911 center received a report of a female being struck by a vehicle on I-15 south of the Capitol interchange. 


Helena Police, Helena Fire, Montana Highway Patrol and St. Peter’s Ambulance responded to the scene.  


The investigation determined the following-A 15 year old female pedestrian walked onto the interstate eastbound in the southbound lane approximately a mile south of the Capitol interchange. 


A southbound 2007 Dodge pickup truck driven by a 56 year old female from Winston struck the pedestrian.  


The 15 year old female died at the scene.   


The southbound traffic on I-15 has been restricted to one lane since the accident and will be until the investigation is complete. 


 No citations have been issued and the incident is still under investigation.
