July 6th

 

At 1653 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Fairgrounds for a report of an unresponsive male in a vehicle.  It was reported the male was a victim of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Officers and paramedics responded and found the 20-year-old male to be deceased.  The body was released to the LCSO Coroner’s Office and the case is actively being investigated. 

 

July 7th

  

At 0209 hours, an Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Lyndale and Washington.  The male driver demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI.  At the conclusion of the investigation, the 31-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI and booked into the LCSO jail. 

 

At 0813 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of Prospect for a report of a male passed out in a vehicle.  The vehicle was located and the male driver was identified.  The driver demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI.  At the conclusion of the investigation, the 59-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI and booked into the LCSO jail.  

 

At 1500 hours, Officers responded to the 300 block of Last Chance Gulch for a report of a male refusing to pay for serviced he was provided.  The 33-year-old Helena male suspect was identified and cited for theft of services.  He was referred to Municipal Court. 

 

At 1651 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the 1800 block of E Custer Ave for a report of a female at a business with an active arrest warrant.  The 26-year-old Helena area female was identified and arrested for the warrant.  She was booked into the LCSO jail. 

 

At 2047 hours, Officers responded to the 900 block of N Montana Ave for a report of a physical altercation between a male and female.  Officers arrived and met with both involved parties.  At the conclusion of the investigation, a 39-year-old Helena woman was arrested for Partner/Family Member Assault.  She was booked into the LCSO jail. 

 

The Helena Police Department responded to 58 calls for service.  Of those calls, they responded to 4 vehicle crashes, 5 Animal calls, 6 theft calls, 2 welfare Checks, and conducted 13 traffic stops.
