High-Speed Chase On Highway I-90 Involves Six Law Enforcement Departments: Driver Still At Large

The Stillwater County Sheriff Officer Tuesday, May 14, 2019, attempted a traffic stop for a simple traffic infraction.

The vehicle sped off, and a pursuit ensued.  Both the Columbus Police Department and the Stillwater County Sheriff's Department pursued the vehicle eastbound on Interstate 90 from about mile marker 409.

A Stillwater County Deputy deployed a spike strip at about mile marker 421 but was unsuccessful in stopping the vehicle.    

The chase continued eastbound at various speeds estimated between 75 to 95 miles per hour.

Just West of Laurel Montana, another set of spike strips, were deployed and the fleeing vehicle ran over the spike strips.  The vehicle came to a  stop, and the driver of the vehicle fled on foot.

 The female passenger was arrested without incident.

The various Law Enforcement Departments that responded to the pursuit and were involved was the Stillwater County Sheriff Office, the Columbus Police Department,  Montana Highway Patrol, Laurel Police Department, Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office, and the Billings Police Department.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle was not apprehended as of the time that the Montana News  Investigative reporter released this article.
