AMBER ALERT Gregory Marks
The Cheyenne Police Department is investigating the abduction of one-year-old Gregory Marks. Mijito Johnson, a non-custodial parent of Marks, is suspected of abducting Marks at approximately 3:00 p.m. from the 5800 block of Star Wood Ct., Cheyenne, WY.

Johnson was driving a 2004 silver Ford Expedition with no registration and a broken rear passenger side window.


Johnson is 6’1”, 150 lbs, with hazel eyes and black hair.


Anyone with information can call the Laramie County Combined Communications Center at 307-637-6525.


An Amber Alert has been issued for Marks.


Marks is one-year-old and was last wearing dark gray jogger pants, light gray tennis shoes and a long-sleeve beige shirt with a moose. Marks is 31 inches, 21 pounds and has long brown hair gray/hazel eyes.



This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.




UPDATE:   Gregory Marks has been found safe, Amber Alert canceled .

At approximately 10:00 p.m. Mijito Johnson was located by law enforcement in Aurora, Colorado  Details of the events will be released by the Montana News later today.




UPDATE:  CHEYENNE,Wyo.— At approximately 10:00 p.m. on April 11, one-year-old Gregory Marks was recovered by the Aurora Police Department at a residence in Aurora, Colorado.


Marks was abducted from Cheyenne earlier in the day by his mother’s boyfriend, Mijito Johnson, 26, of Cheyenne.


Johnson struck Marks’ pregnant mother multiple times before taking Marks from her arms and fleeing to his brother’s house in Colorado.


An Amber Alert was issued in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, New Mexico and Oklahoma, prompting a multi-state search for the abducted child.


Officers with the Aurora Police Department found Johnson’s vehicle abandoned in a parking lot and located him a short distance away at his brother’s residence.


Johnson remains in police custody in Colorado and a warrant has been issued for his extradition to Wyoming for interference with child custody and two counts of aggravated assault against a pregnant woman.


The Cheyenne Police Department is grateful to everyone who called in with tips on this case and to the local and federal law enforcement agencies who assisted in Marks’ safe recovery.
