In other words, the prosecution  or Plaintiff's must prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, each essential element of the crime or civil allegations charged or leveled.  Until then the defendant or respondent is considered innocent of the charges or civil allegations

Billings man Ronal Dean Nelson was arrested for Partner Family Member Assault.

On March 25, 2019, the Billings Police Department dispatched Officers to a disturbance at the Holiday gas station located at Rosebud Drive and 32nd St., West.

Billings Police Officer Foster responded to the call and was advised by dispatch that a suspect was believed to be in possession of a  gun and knife and that there was a female screaming.

Dispatch also identified the man as Ronald Nelson born September 1970 and that he was trying to possibly break into the female's vehicle and not allowing her to leave the area.

Billings Police Officer Foster observed a white SUV  parked on the West side of the parking lot.

As Officers pulled up, they observed a female screaming who appeared to be in extreme distress.

Billings Police Officer Foster quickly apprehended the male suspect and secured him in handcuffs.

The female identified as M. S. ran from the vehicle and hid behind a propane tank which was outside the store after Officer Foster detained the suspect

Officer Foster then approached the victim who was visibly shaken and scared.

The victim stated to Officer Foster that she thought Ronal Nelson had a gun
and a knife but when Officer Foster placed the suspect in custody, he did not locate a gun nor a knife on the suspects person.

The victim told Officer Foster that she had been trying to get away from the vehicle and that she had been screaming at him to let her go she also stated that the suspect had previously
assaulted her multiple times which included hitting  her over the back of my hand about two
days earlier.

The victim indicated that she was petrified and stated that they had only been dating for about two months and were living together but that she wanted out.

She indicated to Officer Foster that she had broken up with Ronel Nelson because she had discovered that he had been cheating on her.

The victim also stated to Officer Foster that she recently had back surgery and was in the process of recovering from Ronal's violent attacks on her in the past and hurting her.

Previously, Ronal Dean Nelson had given her a black eye and he would beat her on a regular basis.

The suspect Ronal Dean Nelson had three prior convictions for Partner Family Member Assault all in the state of Montana back in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  If convicted this would make Ronal Dean Nelson's (4) conviction of PFMA's.
