Minot Police Make Arrest Of Suspected Shooter Joseph Thompson III

SUMMARY OF CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING INCIDENT:
UPDATE: Joseph THOMPSON III has been arrested in connection with the shooting on 3/18/19 in the 10 blk of 16th Ave SW. Arrest warrants were issued earlier today and THOMPSON turned himself in to Minot Police.

 

He has been charged with 6 counts of Reckless Endangerment, 1 count of Burglary, and 1 count of Terrorizing, all of which are felony offenses. He is currently being held in the Ward County Jail pending his court appearance.


ORIGINAL: Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 10 block of 16th Ave. SW. The
investigation revealed that a male subject broke into the garage and fired several shots into the residence.


with a handgun. The subject was a known acquaintance of the occupants. Five people were in the
residence at the time, but nobody was hit by the rounds going through the residence. This incident is
under investigation by the Minot Police Department.
