February 20, 2019, Deputy Etters was dispatched to the address of 433 Caravan Lane for an allegation of assault on a child.
C.D. is the mother of the little girl in question. According to C.D. (mother of the child), she stated that Lea Alex Yates is her boyfriend and that they have been together for about tw0 months now and recently moved into his grandmother's home located at 3455 Old Hardin Road #6.
On February 19, 2019, C.D. left for work leaving her two children D.L and L.D. in the care of her boyfriend Lea Alex Yates.
Many times in the past she had left her two children in the care of Lea Yates II and have had no problems.
When C.D. returned home from work she inquired how the kids have been.
Lea Yates II. indicated to her that he had to spank L.D. because the little girl urinated on herself.
C.D. did not think much of the comment of spanking as she had no reason to be alarmed about it at the time she stated, to Law Enforcement.
Later that same day the mother, C.D. gave her daughter L.D. a bath that evening and noticed that there was some severe bruising on the little girl's buttocks. C.D. confronted her boyfriend Lea Alex Yates II. and he did not respond.
The Next day the mother to her daughter to her mother's home Geanna Humphrey was were going to watch the children at 433 Caravan Street. Humphrey noticed that the little girl had bruising and reported it to the Child Protective Service (CPS).
Sergeant Rena and Deputy Etta looked at L.D. buttocks and observed bruising that covered a significant portion of the child's butt and lower area of the back.
Both Sergeant Reyna and Deputy Etters made contact with Lea Yates II. Yates began to cry and stated to the Officers that he was watching CD.'c children and the little girl L.D. urinated on herself and then was rubbing it on the couch.
He denied at first using any physical punishment but then later admitted to Deputy Etter that he had spanked L.D. one time with his hand.
Lea Alex Yates II. was arrested without incident.
