The Minot Fire Dept. would like to invite you to our Citizens Fire Academy which will be held June 1st which is the Saturday after the Minot Police Department holds their last Tuesday session of their Citizens Police Academy.

The Fire academy will start at noon and go until approximately 8 PM. We will have stations set up to teach different skills that we use at the Fire Dept. Search and Rescue, Rappelling, Auto extrication, and Aerial operations are tentatively scheduled. These topics are chosen because they are fun, challenging, hands on and expose the public to some of the types of incidents that we might face in the Fire Service on any given day.

Participants are encouraged to be hands on but are welcome to just watch and learn. No prior knowledge is required. You must be 18 years old and there is no background check for the Fire Academy.

To register, please e-mail me (Battalion Chief Glen Hardy) at glen.hardy@minotnd.org Please include your name, agency you will be attending with (if applicable), e-mail address, and contact #.
