Billings woman Amanda Ruth Carpenter was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute (1) count, Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs (2) counts and Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1) count.
Back on September 24, 2018, Billings Police Officer Seth Foster responded to the Extended Stay America Hotel to investigate a report of a stolen vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the Hotel.
While Billings Police Officer was driving through the parking lot, Officer Foster observed a grey Pontiac Trans Am that was parked in the parking lot.
an NCIC check of the vehicle license plate number came back to at Christine Jean Reiling who has many arrest warrants for her arrest.
Officer Foster then left and returned to the Extended Stay America Hotel parking lot about an hour later. Now Officer Seth Foster observed a silver Chevrolet Cruze that was parked next to a Trans Am.
Two Females were sitting inside of the silver colored Cruze.
Once checking the license plate to that vehicle Officer Seth Foster discovered that the license plates that were displayed on that vehicle actually belonged to a Dodge Dakota vehicle.
Officer Foster then got out of his vehicle and approached the two females and asked them both to step out of the car.
The two females that were sitting inside of that vehicle was Amanda Ruth Carpenter and Christine Jean Reiling.
Christine Jean Reiling is a suspect in another drug investigation on an unrelated drug case according to Billings Police Officer, Gilmore.
Billings Police Officer Gilmore arrived with his K9 unit since both the Reiling and Carpenter refused to let Officer Seth Foster search the vehicle.
The K9 Unit alerted hot.
The vehicle was then impounded and a search warrant was obtained on Sept 25, 2018, which was the same day.
Inside of the vehicle, the evidence technicians located 15 grams of Heroin and located Meth, a half pill of Hydrocodone pill, $427.00 in cash, empty plastic bags, a digital scale, cell phone, and an address book that contained various names and residential addresses of the two females drug clients.
Both the females were arrested and taken to the Yellowstone County Detention Center without further incident.
