Vehicle Vs. Bicyclist On Lewis Ave

A 59-year-old Billings man was struck from behind while riding his bicycle headed westbound in the bike lane in the area of the 300 blocks of Lewis Ave.

 According to Sgt Scott Conrad, a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old Billings man was driving in the same direction headed westbound in a Dodge full-sized pickup truck.

The Bicyclist was struck from behind by the 24-year-old Billings man who admitted to police that he had gotten distracted just prior to the collision.  The 24-year-old man was on his way to work.

Billings Police issued the 24-year-old Billings driver a citation for Careless Driving and Operating a vehicle without any insurance, according to Sgt. Scott Conrad of the Billings Police Department.

The accident happened at about 7:35 a.m. yesterday morning.  The 59-year-old accident victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention  but appeared to be ok with no life threatening injuries.
