Billings Man Melvin Tyler Left Hand Arrested On Multiple Charges, One Being Possession Of METH

On Dec 11, 2018, at about 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon after school was out, Billings police officer Schnelbauch was patrolling in the area of Lake almost Drive when he noticed a school bus in front of him activate their lights,  as it stopped and then extended its side stop sign.

The pickup truck that was directly behind the school bus but that was in front of the police officer did not stop for the school bus and continued to go around the school bus.  
Billings police officer Schnelbauch followed the vehicle activating his overhead emergency lights in an attempt to get the pick up to stop.  

 

The pickup continued to drive on for about 1 1/2 block further before pulling over.

The driver was I.d. As Melvin Tyler Left Hand.

Melvin was not wearing a seat belt according to Officer Schnelbauch. 

 

Billings Police  Officer  Eric Schnelbach badge #424 maintains an (A) rating according to the Billings Police Ratings site, and can be trusted by the public and is not considered a threat to public safety and well being.

 

In the middle seat, a passenger was identified as Melanie Left Hand and the right front passenger was identified as Rodney Oldbull. 

 

Melvin stated to the Officer that the pickup belonged to his friend Jade and was not stolen.  Melvin was not able to produce insurance papers nor did Melvin have a current license as his had been suspended.

all three of the occupants of the pickup had outstanding warrants for their arrest.

Officer Schnelbach searched the pickup and located 2 Lokers that had white residue in them and were wrapped up in a green cloth and were inside of a Lays potato chip bag that was empty of potatoes chips. 

 

In a backpack more lokers we're discovered along with several syringes.

Inside of the drivers front door, a clear Baggie was located with what appeared to be meth.  A Syringe was found.   After the evidence was taken and weight, the meth weighed 1.3 grams.

Charges Melvin was arrested for is the following:

COUNT I: CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS (FELONY)
COUNT II: CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA (MISDEMEANOR)
COUNT III: DRIVING WHILE PRIVILEGE TO DO SO IS SUSPENDED OR REVOKED
(MISDEMEANOR)
COUNT IV: OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT LIABILITY PROTECTION IN
EFFECT (MISDEMEANOR)
COUNT V: OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT PROPER RESTRAINT/SEATBELT
(MISDEMEANOR)
