Raphael Amende Walke was arrested and charged with Burglary and Criminal Mischief. Raphael Walke was an escaped inmate from the Alpha House, a Billings Pre-release center. Raphael Amende Walke escaped from the Alpha House on March 22, 2018.
Billings Police Office was dispatched to an address of 2813 2nd Ave North for what was described as a burglary in progress. The Address belongs to the Pita Pit of Billings.
At the time of the burglary, the Pita Pit was closed.
Raphael Walke punched the doorknob by allowing him to enter the building.
Once inside of the Pita Pit Raphael Amende Walke, entered the main area of the restaurant and removed the till drawers from the cash register and took $300 from the tills. He then ran upstairs and kicked in the door to the office and took 475.00 and an Asus laptop totaling in value of $200.00
3 suspects were involved in this robbery/burglary. Tow of the suspects was wearing masks and one was wearing a hoody according to a surveillance video. One man was a black male who had a shaved head and a beard that had some greying.
One suspect was tall and heavy, another suspect was shorter.
Billings Police Officer Philip Tanis badge#435 maintains an (A) rating according to the Billings Police rating site. Officer Tanis can be trusted by the public and has not been deemed a threat to public safety and the general well being of the public.
Pita Pit posted various photos of the individuals on their facebook page. An Alpha House employee saw that posting and recognized one of the burglars as Raphael Amende Walke.
Raphael Amende Walke when arrested was noted in the police report that Walke was wearing the same clothes that he had on during the commencement of the burglary at Pita Pit.
Billings Police Officer Beck and Billings Police Officer Foster who both are in the Street Crimes Unit stopped by the Yellowstone County jail and interviewed.
Raphael Walke asked for his lawyer to be present when Office Beck and Foster were trying to get Walke to admit that he was one of the burglars. At this point and time, both Officer Beck and Foster had to end their questioning of Raphael Amende Walke.
