Third Street Southeast will be temporarily closed at Burdick Expressway beginning Wednesday, Oct. 17, as crews perform paving work within the intersection of Third Street Southeast and Bur-dick Expressway.
City Engineer Lance Meyer said he expects the mill and overlay work to take approximately two days to complete. Vehicle traffic on Burdick Expressway will be reduced to head-to-head traffic on two lanes during the project.
“We recognize this is a very busy route for traffic, and the contractor will be working as effi-ciently as possible to get the work completed,” Meyer said. “There will be signs to make drivers aware of the closure, and flaggers will help guide traffic through the intersection. We appreciate the public’s patience as we complete this necessary work.”
Northbound traffic on Third Street Southeast will be detoured onto 11th Avenue SE to Broadway, north on Broadway to Burdick Expressway, east to Front Street, and then back to Third Street Southeast.
Southbound traffic on Third Street Southeast will be detoured east onto Front Street to Burdick Expressway, west to Broadway, south on Broadway to 11th Avenue Southwest, and then east to Third Street Southeast.
