Billings man Daniel Robert Ramirez was charged with Assault with a weapon.  On Sept 8, 2018, Billings Police Officers Brett Hilde and Sgt. Shane Shelden were dispatched to the area of 23rd Street North.   According to dispatch, they advised the Officers that a man pulled a knife on an individual who was out in his yard/alley.

Dispatch also named the suspect as 40-year-old Daniel Robert Ramirez.

While Officers were en route to the area of the crime, they observed an individual who matched the description given by the dispatch center.

Ramirez started to raise his hands then, was yelling at the Police Officers.
As Officer Hilde grabbed Ramirez, Ramirez was trying to pull away from the Officer.

Sergeant Sheldon was the Officer who transported Daniel Ramirez to the Detention Center.

The victim stated to the Officers that Daniel Ramirez walked up to him and asked him to sell him drugs.

The victim stated that he did not sell drugs.  Ramirez insisted that he sell him drugs and that he had sold him drugs in the past and that he needed to sell him some or he would slit his throat and kill him and rob him.

After much argument Daniel Robert Ramirez left.   The victim decided to go grocery shopping and left the house on his bike.

In the alley, Ramirez was hiding behind a tree and jumped out and pulled the victim off his bike.  Pulling out a knife Daniel Robert Ramirez threatens to harm the victim again by telling him that he was going to kill him with his knife.
Ramirez was reported to be high on drugs which would explain his erratic behavior.
