Billings woman, Susan Rae Green, was arrested and charged with strangulation of a partner or family member.

(2) Counts.

Billings Police Officers, Schultz, Gunther and Freeman were dispatched to an address on Miles Ave for what was reported as a simple disturbance according to the 911 dispatch logs.

The complainant that called 911 was the owner of the home and rents the basement of the home to Susan Rae Green.

The day of June 28, 2018, she could hear lots of banging and loud noises that were coming from the basement apartment.   Due to the loud noises, the complainant was worried that something bad was going on.

A while later, a 15-year-old girl, came up the stairs and knocked on her door.

The minor girl told her that her mom was drunk and had been hitting her and her little brother.

Once the officers arrived, they asked the 15-year-old girl, what was happening.

The teenager told Officer Gunther, that on June 27, 2018 at about 10:30 p.m. her mother left the house and then returned about 1:00 a.m. which would have been the morning of June 28, 2018.  She stated that it was obvious that her mother was intoxicated.   Her mother was yelling and upset about her ex-girlfriend named Twyla and the father of the teenage female and her brother.

Their father is residing in the Yellowstone County Detention Center.

Susan Rae Green was angry at the children for speaking to their father and her ex-girlfriend by the name of Twyla.  She yelled at the two minor children, and ordered them to pack their bags and get out of her house.  Both children in fear of Susan Rae Green due to the fact when she drinks, she becomes  violent when drunk.   Quickly, they packed their belongings and headed for the door.

Suddenly Susan Rae Green started hitting her brother multiple times, she tried to stop her mother, Susan, but to no avail.

Susan Green then grabbed her and wrapped her arms around her neck and proceeded to choke her down strangulating her.

Due to her asthma,  she had a hard time breathing anyway, but the strangulating that her mother was doing made her fear for her life as she could not breathe and thought she was going to die.

finally, she  got away and ran upstairs to get help and call for the police.

Billings Police Officer Freeman was the Officer that spoke to her brother (B), who stated to Officer Freeman that he and his sister had been home alone.

His mother came home drunk.

(B), told Officer Freeman that his mother was yelling at both his sister and he, accusing them for everything "Wrong in her life."  the boy tried to calm his mother down but was not able to.

His mother grabbed him by his jacket and threw him to the ground and then started to push his head into the carpet on the floor, then beat him multiple times on his left side of his face and ribs.

His sister stepped in to stop the abuse and that was when his mother got up and started to strangle his sister.

Both the children had been injured from the assault, perpetrated by Susan Rae Green, their drunk mother.

The County Attorney that is prosecuting this case is Molly Rose Fehringer.  Billings Police case report, file # 18-45758.
