According to Helena Police Lieutenant, Jayson Zander, Badge # 745, At 0030 hours, Officers responded to the 800 block of Cooke for a report of a male who had been stabbed. The Officers were able to locate the suspect, Tony Estrada (34 years of age) and after a brief vehicle pursuit, were able to detain him. At the conclusion of the investigation, Estrada, was placed under arrest for Assault with a weapon (felony), 4th offense DUI (felony), Aggravated DUI, fleeing/eluding a Peace Officer, Obstructing a Peace Officer, operating a motor vehicle with expired registration, and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance.
At 1029 hours, an Officer responded to the 1600 block of 11th Ave for a report of a Burglary to a business. The case is active.
At 1150 hours, an Officer responded to the 1200 block of Grant for a report of criminal mischief to a residence.
At 1415 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the area of Elouise Cobell St and Jeanette Rankin Dr for a report of a vehicle crash, It was reported a vehicle collided with a power box and the driver fled the area. The driver was located a short distance from the crash; he demonstrated signs of impairment. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 21-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI, Aggravated DUI, Driving with an expired driver’s license, Reckless Driving, and Hit & Run. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
At 1659 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Euclid for a report of a disorderly male. It was reported the male was standing in the middle of the traffic lane, creating a traffic hazard. When the Officer arrived, he recognized the male as he had trespassed him from a business minutes earlier. The area of 11th and Montana for a report of a theft of a call phone. The 37-year-old Helena area man was arrested for Disorderly Conduct. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
At 1739 hours, an Officer responded to the 600 block of N Montana Ave for a report of an internal theft from a business. It was reported an employee was stealing money. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 55-year-old Helena woman was cited for theft. She was referred to Municipal Court.
At 2106 hours, Officers were dispatched to the area of Prospect and Fee to assist Jefferson County who was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle. When the Officers arrived, Jefferson County had discontinued the pursuit. Shortly afterwards the vehicle was recovered on the 1200 block of Walnut.
At 2350 hours, an Officer responded to the Law Enforcement Center for a report of a found backpack.
