Roundup, Montana--//MNA Press//-- Two (2) County Commissioner's have finally been caught intimidating and bullying their way with members of the public. According to the charges that were filed in the Yellowstone County Court house, Morgan E. Drake has been assigned as Special Deputy Musselshell County Attorney in case #-630-18-03.
According to Yellowstone County Charging Documents, Robert Thornton Goffena and Thomas D. Berry have been arrested and charged with making out false reports To Law Enforcement Authorities.
On Feb 5, 2018 at 4:00 in the afternoon, MSCO Deputy Sheriff F Jared Johnson, was dispatched to respond to whatwas described as an assault which occurred at the Musselshell County courthouse in Roundup.
Deputy Johnson was told by dispatch, that Thomas D. Berry a County Commissioner, called the 911 emergency number and stated, "We just had a person shove a county commissioner." He then specifically stated that T.E. shoved fellow commissioner, Robert Thorton Goffena.
At 4:08 p.m. Deputy Johnson, arrived at the alleged incident which took place at the courthouse,
and spoke with Leah Medina Cabrera, who stated that she witnessed the whole incident.
Leah Cabrera stated that she saw: The guys having a little confrontation" and "a little push back and forth." Caberera stated that she specifically saw "Robert Goffena push T.E.
Deputy Johnson located the victim T.E., who was downstairs in the Court house talking to a group of people.
Deputy Johnson asked the victim T.E., what happened. T.E. stated, Thomas Barry and Robert Goffena were walking ahead of him and that he followed Goffena and Berry upstairs into the county commissioners' office in an attempt to speak with both of them.
Goffena tried to close the door on T.E. and T.E. stuck his foot in the doorway to stop Goffena from shutting the door which would have isolated T.E., with both Goffena and Berry.
Goffena hit T.E., in the sternum and then pushed T.E., backwards.
T.E., denied that he touched Goffena nor pushed Goffena.
Later in the day at about 6:00 p.m. Deputy Johnson, returned to the court house to observe security camera footage of the incident with Undersheriff Lesnik and Musselshell County information and technology Specialist, Adam Toombs.
The video showed footage of Goffena and Berry entering their office. Goffena, forcibly shut the door on T.E.
T.E., grabbed the door and was conversing with Goffena. T.E., remained in the doorway as Goffeena was trying to shut the door on T.E.
Goffena can be seen in the video footage, shoving T.E. backwards with his right hand, while closing the door with his left hand.
T.E. immediately left their office.
The footage shows that T.E. did nothing to provoke the attack nor made any physical contact with Goffena or Berry.
The video footage shows Berry calling 911 only after T.E. left their office.
On Feb 6, 2018 Goffena gave a voluntary statement to the Deputy. He described the altercation at the doorway with T.E.
Goffena stated, "T.E., pushed him on the top of his left arm to thwart Goffena from closing the door and then T.E., pushed him in the chest backwards, so that he, Goffena, could not reach the door knob to attempt to shut it again."
On Feb 6, 2018 Berry stated in a voluntary written statement, "I saw Robert Goffena reach for the office door to close it to keep T.E. out. As he did, T.E. pushed Gofenna and grabbed his left arm/shoulder area to keep Goffena from closing the office door. Robert Goffena pushed T.E. away and yelled call 911."
Both the statements that were given by Musselshell County Commissioners, Robert Goffena and Thomas Berry were both LIES. The Corruption that Robert Goffena and Thomas Berry have been involved in for many years have the public fed up. Many in the public are saying, 'It's about time these bad dudes get caught." It's time to get rid of them for good.
