Billings, Montana--//MNA Press//-- On May 25, 2018, the Billings Police were dispatched to the Maui Nights Casino and Bar which is located at 5435 Midland Road.    At this point the dispatch had categorized this 911 call as just a simple disturbance.

Dispatch told the Officers, that a woman had reported to casino staff that her boyfriend was causing her issues.

Billings Police Officer Carney and Officer Vickery were sent to the Maui Casino.

Once they arrived at the Maui Nights Casino, Officer Carney located a male who was outside of the Casino door acting emotional and crying.

As Officer Carney got out of his vehicle Miles Denny got on his knees and put his hand on his head as if he was waiting to be arrested.  According to the Officer Carney's police report, Miles Denny refused to say why he was doing this when asked by Officer Carney.

Officer Carney went ahead and temporarily, handcuffed Denny.

The female victim was located inside of the Casino where Officer Carney was able to speak to her and asked her what had happened.   The victim indicated that she and Miles Denny, had been living together and that Denny,  is her boyfriend.

Both her and Denny had been hanging out with some other female women.  The group  wanted  to take some shots.  She stated that she did not want to.

The victim stated that she went outside to smoke  followed by Miles Denny her boyfriend.  Denny,  suddenly grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground, grabbed her hair, pulled her head up and then placed his hands around her neck and started to choke her out.

She stated that she was not able to breath.  Eventually,  she was able to get away from Denny and started to pound on the casino door to be let back in.

According to Officer Vickery,  Denny threw the car keys of the victim over into the Red Lion parking lot.

Officer Vickery searched the parking lot but could not find the keys.

According to the police report, Denny stated that he got angry because he did not want his girlfriend doing shots with other females and another male.  He classified the incident as just a "little fight."

He never once mentioned to the arresting Officers about what happened to his girlfriend, just that he had been kicked out by the Maui Nights Casino employees.

Denny was arrested and charged with Strangulation (Felony) and PFMA (misdemeanor).  The Billings Police report number is C&O 18-36333 and the case is being prosecuted by Molly Ros Fehringer, Deputy County Attorney for Yellowstone County.  The Docket number for this case is CR2018-1234 and the case was brought before Judge David Carter for an arraignment Hearing.
