A Billings man Timothy Daniel Benton was arrested and charged with Aron (Felony).
On March 13, 2018 Officer Stroble were sent to a disturbance at 1007 South 29th street at apartment #6. The resident that lives there is E.N. Who told the dispatcher that her ex-boy friend Timothy Benton was attempting to break into her home.
The victim told the dispatcher that Timothy Benton was trying to burn his way into the home by burning up the doorway.
As Billings Police Officer Dustin Strobel badge#459 who is on the MLEA / patrol arrived, he observed a black man outside the residence. Officer Dustin Stroble observed the male stumbling as if he was intoxicated and he noticed a bottle that was in the man’s pocket of his jacket.
Once Officer Jeremy Boeckel Badge#390 arrived to assist Officer Dustin Strobel, the black male was arrested and identified as Timothy Daniel Benton.
The damage that Benton inflicted on E. N.’s home resulted in fresh burns on the door and the door jam, flame marks that flowed upward to the door jam.
The victim E.N. told officers that her fire alarm went off and that she saw that an area of the door was glowing red hot and that there was smoke everywhere in her home.
She told Officers that she heard the noise of a torch outside of her door. She indicated that she was afraid of Benton and she was fearful that he was going to be successful in burning down her home with her inside of it. Benton has a history of violence, but Arson is a new thing for Benton. She referred to Benton as her “psycho ex,”
Billings Police Officer discovered a Butane torch outside of apartment #1 which was north of her apartment#6
Billings police Officer Fjetland was the Officer who interviewed Benton.
