Billings Mother Erin Montoya Was Arrested And Charged With Having Loaded Meth Needles Near Her Child

Billings woman Erin Montoya was arrested and charged with "Endangering the Welfare of children."

According to reports, Billings Police Officer Foster, Beck and Detective Hallam were working an ongoing stolen vehicle(s) investigation.


In various criminal cases the name of Aaron Wade Montoya was mentioned multiple times concerning drugs and stolen property that he is connected to.


Billings Police learned that Aaron Montoya now lives at the address of 519 South 33rd Street in Billings and that home would probably house stolen property and drugs.


Aaron Montoya is currently on probation and his Probation Officer is Chris Evan.


Evan's told Officer Beck that he was preparing to issue a warrant for the arrest of Aaron Montoya since Montoya has not contacted his probation Officer for several months now.


Officer Foster, Beck and Detective Hallam drove to the residence of Montoya.  Montoya happened to be sitting in his maroon Chevy Colorado.


Aaron Montoya made eye contact with Foster.


Foster was able to identify Montoya as he has had many run ins with Aaron Montoya.


Aaron Montoya sped away towards Moore Lane and Laurel Road where he got trapped in heavy traffic.


Officer Foster exited out of his car, ordered Montoya to exit his vehicle  and then was able to placed Montoya into handcuffs.


Montoya at the time of arrest, was in possession of $2,000.00 cash and a Taser. Officer Ihde emptied the pockets of Montoya and Montoya's Probation Officer Evans, consented for the Officers to search Montoya’s vehicle.


The Officers did not find any contraband nor drugs in Montoya’s vehicle.


Probation Officer Evans  requested Police Officers to search Montoya’s home.


Officer Beck, Kramer, Detective Hallam and Sgt. Finnegan searched Montoya’s home.


When Officers arrived they located Erin Montoya, Erica Montoya, Emilio Walks, D.W. a minor and Stephanie Wolf who were all at the home.


The parents of the minor child D.W. is Emilio Walks and Erin Montoya's child.


The child was taken away by CPS case workers due to the fact that Meth was located in the home along with used needles, Syringes, two of the syringes were actually loaded with METH.


Several of the syringes were in the immediate area of the minor.   


Erin Montoya is the daughter of Aaron Montoya.


Erica Montoya, Erin Montoya and Emilio Walks admitted to the Billings Police that they use METH on a constant basis and that the minor child D.W. is around them when they are shooting METH and other drugs.


The minor child D.W. is around the drugs and D.W. has access to the area where the loaded syringes are, namely a bathroom cabinet that was on the floor.


The Deputy prosecutor that is handling this case is Ingrid A. Rosenquist of Billings. Case#Cr2018-0460
