Laurel Man Jed Alfred James Hergenrider Charged With Negligent Vehicular Assault And Leaving The Scene Of An Accident

According to Court Documents, Trooper Josh French was dispatched to an accident at the location of South Laurel Road and Bernhardt Road.

 

A Ford 350 was traveling Westbound on South Laurel Road.

 

The vehicle failed to negotiate a left-hand turn. The driver of the pickup was Jed Alfred James Hergenrider.

 

The vehicle he was driving struck a Northwestern Energy Utility pole. After hitting the Utility pole, his truck became engulfed in flames

Hergenrider had a passenger in his vehicle named Jared Krenelka who was lying incapacitated next to the Ford 350.

 

Jed Alfred James Hergenrider was nowhere to be found as he had already left the scene leaving his passenger laying on the ground incapacitated.

 

Krenelka was seriously injured and was transported to the Billings Clinic.

 

Laurel police were finally able to contact the driver at his home in Laurel at 6:00 that next morning.

 

told Trooper French that he had been drinking the night of the crash but that he was not drunk now. Trooper French transported to the jail. is under the age of 21 and has been charged with negligent vehicular assault and failure to stop or remain at accident scene involving bodily injury to another. Both of these charges are misdemeanors.

 

Deputy County attorney Michael Ellinghouse is prosecuting this case in front of  presiding Judge, Jeanne Walker.
