According to Lieutenant Jayson Zander  of the Helena Police Department, At 0058 hours, an Officer was patrolling the area of 11th and Davis.  He conducted a traffic stop due to a moving violation.  The 29-year-old Helena driver demonstrated signs of impairment.  She was tested for DUI and ultimately arrested for DUI, Aggravated Dui, and Improper Turn.  She was booked into the LCSO jail.   

 

 At 0234 hours, an Officer was patrolling the area of Washington and Custer.  He observed a vehicle in front of him veer into the oncoming traffic lane.  Due to this, the Officer attempted a traffic stop.  The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and proceeded north on the Frontage Rd  for several miles before stopping at a residence.  The 24-year-old Helena man was detained and eventually tested for DUI.  The man was arrested for DUI, Eluding a Police Officer, and Driving on the Wrong Side of the Rd.  He was booked into the LCSO jail.   

 

At 1000 hours, an Officer responded to the 500 block of Logan for a report of a female trespassing at that location.  The female left prior to Officer arrival, but her identity was confirmed.  The case is active. 

 

At 1000 hours, an Officer responded to the 2200 block of N Benton for a report of a Burglary to a residence. 

 

At 1139 hours, an Officer responded to the 500 block of Logan for a report of a theft of money.  The case is active. 

 

At 1351 hours, an Officer was dispatched the 2400 block of Broadway for a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle.  It was reported a window was broken out.   

 

At 1355 hours, an Officer was dispatched the 1100 block of Broadway for a report of a stolen vehicle.  The suspect is known and the case is active.   

 

At 1537 hours, an Officer responded to the 3100 block of N Montana for a report of a shoplift from a business.  The juvenile male was identified and cited for theft.  He was referred to Juvenile Probation. 

 

At 1547 hours, an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of N Montana Ave for a report of a shoplift from a business.  Surveillance footage was captured and the case is active. 

 

At 1633 hours, an Officer was dispatched to contact a complainant in regards to a family member acting suspicious.  The male was located at another location in his vehicle.  The 47-year-old Helena man was demonstrating signs of impairment.  He was tested for DUI and ultimately arrested.  He was booked into the LCSO jail. 

 

At 1544 hours, an Officer contacted a complainant in regards to a theft that occurred the previous night on the 10 block of N Last Chance Gulch.  The case is active. 

 

At 1832 hours, an Officer was dispatched to the area of Helena and Rodney for a report of a male/female in a verbal argument.  The females identity was learned, but the male provided false information about who he was.  Once his identity was later learned, the 38-year-old Helena area man was arrested for a valid warrant and Obstructing a Police Officer.  The 38-year-old Helena woman also was arrested for a valid warrant.  Both were booked into the LCSO jail.   

 

 

The Helena Police Department responded to 70 calls for service.  Of those calls, they responded to 9 vehicle crashes,  9 Welfare Checks, 5 disturbance calls, 2 disorderly calls, and 4 Suspicious Circumstance calls.
