Billings, Montana--//MNA Press//-- Billings man James Matthew Bossen arrested and charged with Strangulation of a family member and Assault.
According to a Court hearing, on February 10, 2018 Billings Police Officer Aaron Edwards was dispatched to area of North 31st street regarding a report of an attempted strangulation.
Officer Edwards talked to a female who stated that her nephew James Bossen attacked her and strangled her multiple times.
She claimed that she sustained injuries and was sore due to the assault by her nephew.
Her nephew had been staying with her at the Bourbon Street Hotel in Billings.
The night before she and her nephew had gone out drinking had fun and then returned to their room. She told Officer Edwards that her nephew suddenly started to yell at her accusing her of stealing his phone.
James Bossen then grabbed her by the arms and threw her on the bed. Grabbing her throat with both of his hands and squeezing.
As James M. Bossen verbally threatened to kill her as he was strangling her.
James’s Aunt stated to police that she was not able to breathe or yell out. After she was able to get free she avoided him the rest of the evening.
The next morning James and his Aunt went to do laundry. James started to drink again and became aggressive. At about 3:30 they returned to the room and once inside, James Bossen attacked his Aunt again. This time he threw her on the bed and held her down and started to make sexual comments of a sexual nature towards his Aunt.
James’s Aunt was able to get away and quickly pack a small bag. She states that she went directly to her niece’s home.
The victim expressed to the plolice that they had better take more than one cop if they go speak to him as he is considered violent and has a long history of domestic violence.
Multiple Billings Police responded to the Bourbon Hotel. Officer Edwards, Officer Jeff Stovall, Officer Justin Bickford, Officer lane Diercks, Officer Daniel Shreeve and Sgt Matthew Lennick all responded to the Bourbon Street Hotel. The Billings Police are always having to show up at the Bourbon Street hotel for one thing or another.
Once they were able to arrest Bossen, he was transported to the hotel. Once at the Yellowstone County Detention Center, Officer had to physically restrain him and they deployed a taser multiple times in order to subdue him as he was acting in an extreme violent manner.
