0918 hours-Officers responded to the 300 block of Euclid for a reported Forgery.

 

1003 hours-An officer responded to the 1500 block of Boulder to investigate a theft.

 

1014 hours-An officer responded to the 3000 block of Villard for a reported theft.

 

1027 hours-An officer responded to the 400 block of Knight for a report theft of a delivered package.

 

1215 hours-Information was received on 01-16-18 about a person making threat to come to Helena to “shoot up the Capitol”  on 01-17-18.    Helena PD officer working with the Bozeman PD developed additional information and identified confirmed the identity of the person making the threats.   On 01-17-18, information was obtained by the Gallatin SO that the male had left the Belgrade area headed to Helena.    Additional Helena PD officers were deployed at the Capitol starting Wednesday morning.   State officials and local  law enforcement in the area were made aware of the threats.     At approximately 1215 hours, acting on the information, Montana Highway Patrol stopped a westbound vehicle near Spokane Creek Road and Highway 12 East.    A 40 year old male from Gallatin County was taken into custody and transported to Helena.    Custody of the male was turned over to Helena Police and the male was placed into protective custody and transported to St Peter’s Hospital for a mental health evaluation.   Working with the Gallatin County Attorney’s Office and the Lewis and Lewis and Clark County Attorney’s Office it was determined the male should be transported Montana State Hospital at Warm Springs.   Helena PD officers transported him to the State Hospital and he was released to the custody of the hospital.     

 

1244 hours-An Officer investigated a theft that occurred in the area of Butte and Sanders.

 

1334 hours-An officer investigated a theft that occurred in the 1500 block of Gallatin.

 

1444 hours-An officer investigated a negligent arson that occurred in the 800 block of Helena Ave.

 

1650 hours-An officer responded to the 500 block of Breckenridge for a reported assault.   At the conclusion if the investigation, a 32 year old male from Helena was arrested for an outstanding warrant of possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

1724 hours-An officer investigated a theft that occurred in the 3100 block of N Montana.

 

1751 hours-An officer investigated a shoplifting that occurred in the 600 block of N Montana.   At the conclusion of the investigation a 25 year old female from Clancy was cited for theft and released.

 

1830 hours-An officer responded to the 1600 block of Laurel and  investigated a theft of a purse from the 1600 block of Laurel.    

 

2341-An officer responded to the 1200 block of Prospect to investigate a shoplifting.

 

01-18-19

 

0026 hours-An officer investigated a stalking in the 500 block of Broadway.

 

0108 hours-An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Leslie and Joslyn.   At the conclusion of the investigation, a 31 year old female from Helena was arrest for aggravated DUI,  DUI, and other traffic offenses.  

 

On 01-17-18, Helena Police Department answered 84 calls for service including 11 traffic crashes,  9 traffic stops, and 7 mental health related calls.
