Lockwood man John Tyler Rhodes had to be tased by the Yellowstone County Sheriff Department in order to be arrested for Partner Family Member Assault against his wife Mandi Rhodes.

According to the Deputies notes on Dec 27, 2017 at 2035 hrs the Sheriff Department was dispatched to the address of 1334 Tappadero Trail for what was a simple disturbance call.

Deputy Derrek Skinner upon arriving asked John Rhodes if everything was alright and if he could speak to his wife.

John Rhodes became verbally aggressive  with the Sheriff Deputy and told the Deputy that this was his house and that the Deputy could not come in.

Deputy Skinner  told Rhodes that he was responding to a call for help from this address and that he needed to speak to his wife to make sure that she was ok.

Upon entering the home Deputy Skinner was able to speak to Mandi Rhodes who was holding a baby.  The Deputy asked Mandi Rhodes to follow him outside so that he could speak to her privately.

John Rhodes followed the two outside.

Deputy Skinner then ordered Rhodes to step back into the house so that he could talk to his wife separately.

The Deputy warned him that he would be arrested for interference or Obstructing a Peace Officer if he did not comply.

John Rhodes tried to interfere and hear what the Deputy was asking his wife.

John Rhodes was very intoxicated according to Deputy Skinner and at some point Deputy Skinner ordered Rhodes to put his hands behind his back which Rhodes refused.  Deputy Skinner drew his taser and again ordered him to comply but Rhodes once again refused.

Deputy Dahl arrived and ordered John Rhodes back, but Rhodes moved even closer to Deputy Skinner who was trying to interview Mandi Rhodes.

At this point the Deputies had no choice but to tase the non compliant, very intoxicated John Rhodes.

For 45 minutes John Rhodes fought with the deputies before they were able to get his hand in cuffs.  One of his arms was in a cast which made it a bit more difficult in cuffing him, but eventually he was escorted to the patrol car and detained.  The case#201700734353
