A Billings woman Jalee Michelle Muus, was in traveling in a vehicle that was being driven by Steven Palmer.
Billings Police Office Gilmore observed the vehicle that Steven Palmer was driving on December 25, 2017 and had direct knowledge that the occupants of the vehicle were all known to him as having recent drug activity.
Officer Gilmore pulled over the vehicle that Steven Palmer was driving and asked to search the vehicle.
Steven Palmer gave permission to have his vehicle searched.
Officer Gilmore then searches the vehicle and located a purse that belongs to Jalee Michelle Muus. Muus consented to have her purse searched.
Officer Gilmore located a straw in the purse and a substance that when Officer Gilmore filed tested the substance it tested positive for METH.
Gilmore told Muus that she was being arrested for the straw which was in her possession.
Muus stated to Officer Gilmore that the straw was from several months ago. Apparently the substance that Gilmore tested was either on the straw or in the straw.
The Montana News has not been able to get that information as of the publish date of this article. Muus was arrested and detained without incident.
