Billings man James Maurice Palmer, was arrested and charged for Theft of another person’s Identity and Forgery.

According to a court hearing, on April 24, 2017 Billings Police Officer Beck was dispatched to the rent-A-Center which is located at 1212 Grand Ave.  Manager Michael Hernandez told police that he had discovered that another customer’s identity was used to fill out a rent to own application for two televisions which were valued at about $2,294.66 combined.

Michael Hernandez told police that he had a copy of the suspect’s application and a copy of the I.D. that the man displayed.  The Identity  information was stolen from Dustin and Adrienne Bunnell’s legitimate contract for something that they had purchased from the rent to own prior.

The fake I.D. appeared to the Officer as being fraudulent as it was not up to the Montana ID card standards.

After a while a black female came into the store while the Officer was in the store.  Once the Police officer left the store the Black female abruptly left the store herself.

Later the female was identified as Omunik Dixon who as listed as a reference on James Maurice Palmer’s application form.

According to court documents, Palmer had been working for H&H Block.

James Maurice Palmer according to records, Palmer had warrant for his arrest for issuing bad checks and for fraud.

James Maurice Palmer admitted to Officer Beck that he Palmer owed a man by the name of  “G” money and that “G” was trying to collect on that money.  Palmer told “G” that he worked at H&H Block and told “G” to help himself to anyone’s file and he showed "G" the files.

Palmer then thought that the owing money issue was resolved, but “G” contacted Palmer a few days later and told him to go to the Rent to own store and hand them an application to purchase two TV’s.

Palmer told the Officer that he did not know how “G” got his identification, but that somehow “G” must have taken that information as well as other individual I.D. information from the two files at H&H Block.

According to Palmer, “G” is a pill pusher and deals in prescription pills and that “G” may live over at the Fox Meadow apartments according to James Maurice Palmer.

Omunik Dixon is the girl friend of James Maurice Palmer.   Palmer was not  detained in the Yellowstone County Jail.   Instead he was released on his on OR and given a notice to appear ni City Court on May 18, 2017.   Palmer failed to appear at that Court hearing,.
