Billings Man Rodney Alex Cabrera was arrested and charged with Burglary, (2) counts. According to a court hearing, Rodney Cabrera allegedly stole from the Sun-glass Hut and the Champs Sporting Goods store both located in the Rimrock Mall at 300 South 24th street West.

Security footage in the Mall show Rodney Cabrera stealing 29 pairs of sunglasses ranging in cost from 800 to just under 3,000 in value.

Leah Crawford who is the manager at the Sun-glass Hut kiosk, reviewed security footage which captured Cabrera’s theft.

Billings Police Officer Solorio inquired on how Cabrera gained access to the mall when the mall was closed. The Casino in the Mall indicated to the police that Rodney Cabrera was a regular at the casino.

The casino is open in the mall after hours but the mall it’s self is closed to the public.

Officer Weston on Oct 4 responded to a call from the Champs Sporting Goods store for a report of a burglary.

In the surveillance video footage, Rodney Alex Cabrera was observed entering the store from the back door and with a flash light was snooping in the back office.

Once inside the office Rodney Cabrera finds the security camera control box  disables the stores cameras by pulling out some fuses, thus making the cameras go offline unable to record anything from that point on.

Cabrera then steals (50) concert tickets $600 in cash and multiple Jordan brand items.

October 7, Officer Weston responded to the Homestead Self storage and found two individuals in storage unit B139. Officer Weston noticed inside the door of the storage unit several needles and drug paraphernalia.

Along with the drug equipment, lots of Jordan brand clothing items were also laying around.

15 pairs of new athletic shoes of different sizes, multiple sweats and sweatshirts were laying around on the floor of the storage unit.

Rodney Alex Cabrera is already on probation from the District Court for multiple charges from previous incidents.

Cabrera was taken into custody without incident.
