Billings Mt --//MNA press//-- Billings Police Gave chase to a white 4 door white Hyundai early this morning at 1:00 a.m.
A female Billings Police Officer called in this vehicle as she was trying to make a speeding traffic stop. Suddenly the 4-door Hyundai took off resulting in the Billings female police officer in pursuit.
The hot pursuit led the Billings Police, Sheriff Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol all over the city of Billings from Zimmerman, further West, and Downtown and around and around.
Multiple times speeds reached 75 miles per hour and as low as 40 mile per hour.
But, the Billings Police lost the suspect not just once, but twice.
Mean time other Sheriff Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol Troopers were staged in various areas of the city in wait with spike strips to deploy if the vehicle came their direction.
When the Sheriff Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol Troopers were in the lead pursuing the white 4 door Hyundai, they never allowed the fleeing vehicle to shake them loose.
But when the Billings Police were taking the lead, Billings Police lost sight of the vehicle twice.
The last place that Billings Police lost sight of the vehicle was on 3rd Ave headed East bound in the West bound lane. Speeds reached 75 mph.
The car had been reported as stolen and the license plates that were on the car were registered to Casey Stone of Billings.
The whole pursuit lasted about only 40 minutes from the time that is was originally called in by the Billings female Police Officer.
It was reported that the single occupant driver threw something out of the window at one point during the chase. Billings Police never did find what was thrown out as of the time of this publishing.
