Billings Detention Officer, Officer Eckart Struck Several Times In The Head By Billings Inmate Patrick John Johnson

Billings man, Patrick John Johnson was arrested and charged with obstructing A Peace Officer. 

 

Back on January 22, 2017 a Yellowstone County Detention facility asked for an investigation regarding a report that an inmate by the name of Patrick John Johnston assaulted a detention officer.

 

 Detention Officer Jason Eckart was assaulted by Patrick Johnston.

 

Video footage shows that Patrick Johnston was taking closed fisted swings at Detention Officer Eckart.

 

 Several times Officer Eckart was hit by feet, fists that Johnston assaulted him.

 

According to Deputy Reyna’s investigation, Officer Eckart had gone to the cell of Patrick Johnston because Officer Eckart had taken an extra breakfast food tray.

 

Officer Eckart asked Patrick Johnston to move his bedding closer so he could get a good view of Patrick Johnston.  Johnston started to walk away from Officer Eckart as Officer Eckart grabbed Patrick’s arm to keep him from walking away.

 

Patrick Johnston then turned and started to strike Officer Eckart with his closed fists.  Officer Eckart took Patrick Johnston down to the ground, but in the process of all of this, he was hit several times with feet and fists of Patrick Johnston.

 

Several strikes hit Officer Eckart in the head causing Officer Eckart much pain according to Officer Eckart.
