According to a press memo that was sent to the Montana News from Sheriff Mike Linder of the Yellowstone County Sheriff's office.
Sheriff Linder stated the following: "After several months of remodeling, final touches are being made on the former Payne West Insurance building located at 2323 2nd Ave North.
The Yellowstone Co. Sheriff's Office will be moving business operations to the new building this Thursday and Friday. While there will still be some work to do on the exterior, including signage, office space and security features have been completed.
The current Sheriff's Office, the round building at 2550 3rd Ave N. will continue to do daily business through this Friday August 25th, until 3:00 pm. At that time, all business will be moved to the new building.
Patrol operations will not be affected by the move but there may be a delay in messages being relayed and phone calls being returned by office staff during the move. We would ask that non-essential business be held until Monday.
The move was necessary due to just outgrowing the current location as well as the need to provide space in the courthouse for new District Court Judges. To my knowledge it has not yet been determined what offices will be moved into the round building."
