Billings Man Ran Over By Train

LOCATION: N 28th Street and Montana Avenue

According to Sergeant Bret Becker of the Billings Police Department, at approximately 0200 hours Billings Police Officers were dispatched to the report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a train at the crossing on North Broadway. 

 

Officers arrived within seconds and located a citizen underneath the train that was clearly deceased.  Medical units were summoned to the scene but were unable to assist the subject.  The Billings Police serious accident investigation team is on scene examining the incident.

 

The deceased subject was alone at the time of incident, and police are interviewing two witnesses, one of which was on board the train at the time of the collision.

 

The deceased is a male, appears to be 20-30 years old, darker complexed and resided in Billings.  The deceased has not yet been positively identified.

 

The train stopped immediately following the collision and due to the length of the train, and the ongoing investigation, North 29th, North 28th and North 27th Streets will be closed to north/south traffic between Montana Avenue and Minnesota Avenue until further notice.
