Marc Brian Layne arrested and charged with multiple felonies Count 1. Aggravated Assault- Reasonable Apprehension (Felony), and Count2. Partner Family Member Assault 2nd offense (Misdemeanor)
According to the Missoula Police Department, this was not the first time that Marc Brian Layne has been arrested for PFMA. Nor will this new PFMA be his last based on Layne’s violent criminal history.
Missoula City Police Officer Berger, Smith and Gorman rushed to an assault in progress on Stoddard Street. Once on scene the Officers spoke with the female victim who reported to the Officers that her boyfriend Marc Layne had assaulted her and hurt her.
According to the female victim, she stated that she and her boyfriend have been dating for about 5 months now. A verbal argument started over finances.
The Female victim stated that Marc Layne suddenly jumped on her, tackled her off of the bed and onto the floor between the bed and the wall.
The Victim stated that she was pinned down and could not move as her boyfriend started to strangle her to the point that she could not breathe and starting to lose consciousness.
Marc Layne tried to rip out her esophagus and push his thumbs into her eye sockets in an attempt to damage and blind his girlfriend. For purposes of this news report the Montana News will call her (victim) or (Jane Doe).
Marc Layne is about 6’4’ and 250 lbs. His girlfriend is petite lady and may barley tip the weigh scales at 115 lbs.
Several roommates had to pull Marc Layne off of his girlfriend.
Now According to Marc Layne he stated to the police that it was his girlfriend that became aggressive with him and kept hitting him and attacking him and even scratched him as he was trying to protect himself and at the same time stop her from harming him further.
This is a he said, she said case, but according to Detective Bob Franke, it was the petite woman who thought she was going to die as her boyfriend, Marc Layne assaulted her.
