Minot N.D. Police Remind Public Of Up Coming Closing Requirements On Easter

March 15, 2017

In response to recent inquires received by the Minot Police Department, we would like to remind the public and licensed alcohol establishments of closing requirements on Easter.

Minot Code of Ordinances Sec. 5-8 (a) (2) states, "No one shall dispense or permit the consumption of alcoholic beverages on licensed premises; any time Christmas or Easter Day."

Minot Code of Ordinances Sec 5-8 (c) also adds, "During such time of each day when, pursuant to subsections (a) and (b), the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed on licensed premises, it shall be unlawful for any person to enter upon or to remain on licensed premises"

Under the requirements of this ordinance, such establishments, in the City of Minot, must be closed as provided during the entire calendar day of Easter, this year Sunday April 16, beginning at midnight. Meaning, the 1:00 am closing times observed on other days of the year is NOT applicable that day.
