0n 2/23/17 The Fraternal Order of Police – Souris Valley Regional Lodge #7 presented a check for $1,000 to the Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center (NPCAC) in Minot.

The Mission of the NPCAC is to protect children by providing on-site agency collaboration utilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach in prevention, investigation, assessment and referral for prosecution and treatment of child abuse.

The NPCAC provides a compassionate and effective way to bring services to children victimized by abuse. This public-private collaboration significantly reduces the trauma associated with reporting child abuse and holds offenders accountable.

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest labor representation organization for sworn law enforcement officers with more than 330,000 members in more than 2,200 lodges.

Over 100 members comprise the Souris Valley Regional Lodge #7, which covers northwestern North Dakota. Recognizing that NPCAC’s work goes hand in hand with law enforcement’s efforts to investigate incidents of child abuse and ultimately prosecute offenders, the members of Souris Valley Regional Lodge #7 were excited to present this donation to the organization.
