Minot Shooting

According to the Minot Police Department at 4:18 AM Minot police officers responded to a shooting call at a residence located  in the 1800 block  area of South Main St.


The male victim was transported to the  Trinity Hospital for medical treatment from a gunshot wound.   At this time his condition is unknown.


A female was also assaulted during this incident and was treated for her injuries.


There are no other details available at this time, but there is an ongoing investigation into the incident.


9:00 A.M. UPDATE:  The investigation of the shooting at an apartment in the 1800 block of 2nd Street SE on January 4th at 11:11 PM has led to the arrest of 24 year old Javontez Denane Barnes (Minot).


The investigation showed several rounds were fired through the door into an apartment while occupants were inside.


He has been charged with 4 counts of Reckless Endangerment as a result of that shooting.


The investigation into the robbery at Cash Wise on January 7th at 3:38 AM has also led to the arrest of 24 year old Jevontez D. Barnes for Robbery.


Additionally, 26 year old Randolph Dashiell Garbutt was also arrested for Robbery as a result of the investigation.


The shooting in the 1800 block of South Main Street on January 7th at 4:18 AM left a 24 year old Minot man in critical condition.


During the incident a female at the residence was also assaulted. The investigation has led to the arrest of 24 year old Jevontez D. Barnes for Burglary, Aggravated Assault, and Criminal Attempt – Murder.


Twenty six year old Randolph D. Garbutt was also arrested in connection to this incident and charged with Burglary. Both subjects have been taken to Ward County Jail to await their initial appearances.
