The UN Security Council is scheduled to vote on an anti-Israel resolution today that would condemn Israeli Jews for building homes and businesses within its borders. The vote is expected any time after 2:00 pm ET today (Friday). Yesterday, Egypt put forth the measure but, after lobbying by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and pressure from President-elect Donald J. Trump, the UN Security Council pulled the measure.
Today, however, four UN Security Council members - New Zealand, Malaysia, Senegal and Venezuela - are bringing it back to a vote. Sources say the Obama administration is working with members of the UN to push this vote forward. In a stunning reversal of U.S. policy, the Obama administration has thus far refused to veto the anti-Israel measure. An incensed Israeli official accused President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry of abandoning Israel. In a Times of Israel report, the unnamed official blasted Obama for having "secretly cooked up with the Palestinians an extreme anti-Israeli resolution behind Israel's back which would be a tailwind for terror and boycotts..." A senior source for Obama has denied this.
Immediately call the White House at (202) 456-1111 and encourage that the United States veto any vote. America must stand with Israel.
"We must be vigilant these last 30 days of Obama's term to oppose any action that would harm Israel." said Mat Staver, President of Christians in Defense of Israel.
