According to Officer Bret Becker of the Billings Police Department, at approximately 0750 hours Billings Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased male on the sidewalk in front of St. Vincent DePauls.
A YCSO deputy had been driving in the area and was flagged down by a group of subjects who had discovered the man. A 65 year old male was located and appeared to have been sleeping on the street in front of the business.
He appeared to be a transient and had been bundled in several blankets and a sleeping bag.
Although the temperatures were low, the male was found to have significant health problems and has been hospitalized several times over the past weeks.
It is unknown at this time if exposure to the cold weather or medical conditions were what caused the death.
The male was transported to the Billings Clinic where he was pronounced deceased. The death does not appear to be suspicious and is under investigation.
