Billings Traffic Accident

December 7, 2016

According to Sergeant Bret Becker, at approximately 0740 hours Billings Police Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident that occurred in the intersection of 17th Street West and Grand Avenue.

A grey Chevy pickup truck driven by a 24 year old male was eastbound on Grand Avenue.  A dark colored SUV driven by a 17 year old female was also eastbound on Grand Avenue in the adjoining lane.

The SUV also had a 17 year old passenger.

The Chevy pickup attempted to change lanes into the lane occupied by the SUV.  The pickup impacted the SUV, causing the driver of the SUV to lose control.

The SUV proceeded through the intersection and struck a First Student school bus that was already stopped at the red light.  The SUV then struck the curb and light pole and rolled before coming to a stop in the parking lot of the US Bank.

The two 17 year old females were transported by ambulance for minor injuries.  No persons on the school bus were injured.  The driver of the pickup was issued citations for driving while suspended and making an unsafe lane change.
