According to Sheriff Deputy Barnad, Ward Deputies responded to a burglary in the 3500 block area of 48th Street SE. According to documents, the person at that location reported that a building burglary and the burglary of a 2008 black corvette was stolen.
When the deputies were investigating this crime, another call came in at 9:18 a.m. that shots were fired. The gun shots that were fired were between tow separate vehicles that were firing at each other while driving in the area of 13 st and 233 ave SE.
This location is considered a MAX address but is within the Ward County according to the Sheriff Department. As Deputies were approaching that area an individual indicated that one of the vehicles involved in the shooting had (3) men inside the vehicle and the shooting incident was East bound on the aven.
A Grand Prix with 3 men were located and the deputies tried to pull over the vehicle; the vehicle fled the scene.
A lengthy pursuit ensued at which time the occupants of the car threw many items out of the car to include drug paraphernalia and electronic items. Deputies chased the vehicle eastward bound from the location into McHenry County. In McHenry County, McHenry Deputies joined the pursuit and assisted the North Dakota Highway Patrol Officers and the Deputies from North Dakota.
The pursuit kept going for many, many miles. Finally, the City of Surrey had their police officers join and assist in the pursuit of the Grand Prix with the three men in it. Surrey Police Officer located the vehicle on 11 ave SE near Sundre Addition. The vehicle then went cross country again and came back onto highway 2 and Burdick Express Way to Valley Street and then back into the City of Minot N.D..
The vehicle was lost for just a short time when the Minot Police located the vehicle in the 1400 block of 7th street west. The police gave chase on foot and pursued the 3 individuals and eventually found the individuals hiding and were able to make the arrests of all three without incident.
