Russell Denies Being Kidnapped To The FBI and Billings Police: Yesterday's reported Abduction Was False

Date & Time:         9.15.16   9:30 am   

 

Suspect:   Derek Bigman

On the above date & time Montana Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop and contacted Derek Bigman. 

 

During the stop Bigman fled the MPH Trooper on foot and got into a silver Chevy Impala that had stopped in the area. 

 

The Impala had 3 occupants & Bigman.  The MHP Trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.  During the pursuit 2 of the occupants exited the vehicle at which time the Trooper terminated the pursuit. 

 

The 3rd occupant left in the Impala with Bigman was reported to MHP to be Russell.  It was also reported to MHP that Bigman had possession of a handgun while in the Impala.

At approx. 4:45 pm law enforcement; Billings Police Department & Federal Bureau of Investigation were able to contact Russell in person. 

 

Russell denied being kidnapped or present when the reported abduction occurred.  Although this conflicted with initial reports that Russell was abducted. 

 

Russell advised law enforcement that she was at a family members residence sleeping all day.  The Missing Person report has been cancelled and law enforcement is now only searching for Bigman.
