Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Elias Wolfe Resigned While Under Investigation By The DCI

Billings Montana, July 19, 2016.   DCI Chief investigator, John Strandell, is investigating a Montana Highway Patrol Trooper, Elias Wolfe for making threatening statements to an individual while in the line of duty.

 

According to the Attorney General’s office, a complaint was filed and an investigation ensued recently this month. Wolfe has been employed with the Montana Highway Patrol for about 9 years.

 

Trooper Barnes patrolled the areas of Yellowstone County, Stillwater, Bighorn and Sweet Grass.  

 

The case was referred to the Sweet Grass County Attorney’s office for review.

 

According to Carolynn of the County Attorney’s office, they did received the complaint end of last week and have not had time to review the file as of yet.   No further comments would be made at this time.

 

According to MPH authorities, the DCI is an outside investigation and this case was not investigated internally but though the DCI only.

 

According to the County's office they did confirm that now former Highway Patrol Trooper 37-year-old Elias Wolfe has a case in their office.
