The Only Montana Sheriff Selected To Attend The FBI National Academy

June 30, 2016

Sheriff TJ McDermott has been selected to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia starting on July 11th, 2016.

The prestigious leadership course focuses on several areas including the following; Leadership in Advanced Investigative Strategies for Violent Crime, Behavioral Science, Forensic Science, Leadership Development, Communication and Fitness.

The academy’s mission is "to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world."

Our office is exceptionally excited that Sheriff McDermott was selected, as not many law enforcement officers get the opportunity to attend such a valuable training.

In Sheriff McDermott's absence, Undersheriff Jason Johnson will be overseeing the operations of the MCSO until McDermott's return in September.
