6/23/16 An officer responded to Centennial Park to speak with a male who wanted to report having found his stolen bicycle. The theft had previously been reported to the sheriff's office. The officer recovered the bicycle from another male who had it at the park, and forwarded that information back to the sheriff's deputy to continue his investigation.

6/23/16 An officer stopped a vehicle at about 11:50pm near North Cooke and Cedar Streets for a traffic violation. The officer arrested the driver, 19 year old Trenton Reed Hiler of Helena for warrant he had from Jefferson County Justice Court, in addition to citing him for No Insurance and for failing to stop at a traffic light. He was booked at the detention center.

6/22/16 Officers were called to the 500 blk of North Last Chance to check a male's welfare at about 11:15pm. The male was eventually placed into protective custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation.

 


6/22/16 An officer was called to investigate a theft of a pistol from a vehicle parked in the 1000 blk of Helena Avenue. People who witnessed the theft described the suspect as in his mid-20's, about 5'10" tall wearing a dark gray baseball hat, a dark-colored shirt with red sleeves and washed-out blue jeans.

6/23/16 An officer met with a person incarcerated in the detention center who wanted to report her house being burglarized. The female reported sometime over the past week someone apparently entered her residence in the 1200 blk of Butte Avenue, stealing a television and a number of personal items.

6/24/16 Officers were notified at about 3:15am this morning that the motorhome reported stolen from AAA Storage on North Last Chance had been located in Klamath Falls, OR. One person was arrested in possession of the motorhome. Once that person is actually charged in Helena with the theft, we will release further information. The owner was contacted as to the whereabouts of the motorhome.

6/22/16 Officers responded to Performance Square in the 10 blk of North Last Chance Gulch at about 2:23am. Several people had been sleeping in the park, one reporting people had thrown rocks and scraps of wood down on them from above on Jackson Street, apparently striking one of them in the head. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injury. Officers are continuing to investigate in an attempt to identify and locate the suspects.

6/21/16 at 8:27am An officer responded to a business in the 1800 blk of Custer Avenue concerning criminal mischief to a gaming machine. The officer was informed on June 16th a customer had struck the screen on the machine, breaking it. The officer contacted the male - 56 yr old Chris Lind Carson of Helena - and later issued him a Notice to Appear for misdemeanor Criminal Mischief. He was cited and released.

6/22/16 at 10:44am Officers responded outside a business in the 1600 blk of 11th Avenue concerning a disturbance. Officers investigated and no charges were filed.

6/23/16 at 3:44pm Officers were called to the 800 blk of North Cooke concerning a possibly suicidal female. She was located, placed in protective custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
