Oak Park Bridge Construction Will Cause Additional Traffic Delays Minot, N.D. -- Construction to rebuild the Oak Park Bridge on 4th Avenue Northwest will cause additional traffic detours on Tuesday, June 14th.
The portion of 16th street between West Central Ave and 4th Ave Northwest will be closed to through traffic.
As the work on the bridge moves ahead commuters will encounter delays as trucks hauling pertinent structural beams block the intersection of 4th avenue and 16th street in Northwest Minot.
City Engineer, Lance Meyer, says this temporary blockage of a major intersection is required to install these beams.
“It’s not convenient but it is necessary.” Meyer said of the planned detour. “Large trucks will be hauling our bridge beams from the west on 4th and will need time and space to for staging and placement.”
The closure is scheduled for just the one day, Tuesday June 14th, and temporary traffic control will be in place to help detour traffic.
The City of Minot encourages all commuters to find alternative routes to avoid delays and detours.
Construction on the Oak Park Bridge is expected to conclude in early July.
