On 6/6/16 at approximately 0021 hours, a 2002 BMW passenger car driven by a 41-year-old male was traveling westbound on 1st Ave North, a 29 year-old female passenger was in the BMW.
In the 3400 block of 1st Ave North the BMW collided with a 1994 Subaru Legacy, and a 2008 Honda CRV, both of which were parked on the north side of 1st Ave North.
The force of the collision flipped the Honda CRV onto its top, and propelled the BMW out into the center lane of 1st Ave North.
Witnesses on scene advised the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed, and may have been racing an unknown vehicle that fled the scene after the crash.
The 29-year-old female passenger of the BMW had to be extricated from the BMW by emergency personnel, and was transported to Billings Clinic by ambulance for injuries that were not life threatening.
All three vehicles involved in the crash sustained substantial damage and were towed from the scene.
According to Sergeant West, the driver of the BMW was identified as 41-year-old Benjamin Mills of Billings. Mills was charged with aggravated DUI, and criminal endangerment.
This case remains under investigation, and will be referred to the Yellowstone County Attorney’s office.
