On June 1st, 2016, at approximately 8:05pm, officers were dispatched to 610 South 31st Street regarding reports that a vehicle had struck a house and that the driver and passengers had fled on foot in the area.
As officers arrived in the area, witnesses pointed out the driver of the vehicle and he was detained in the area of Washington Street. He is currently being investigated for DUI. His name and charges will be released soon. Vehicle was a 2006 Saab 97.
A crash investigation revealed that the 34 year old Native American male was traveling eastbound on State Ave and left the roadway on the south portion of the street. The driver over-corrected and then sped north into the alley losing control again and striking the residence.
