Disturbance at Blue Creek and Jellison Rd.
Date and Time: May/22/2016 2:40 PM
According to the Sheriff Mike Linder, at approximately 2:40 PM on 5-22-16, Deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of Jellison road and Blue Creek road.
It was reported that a subject was bleeding and that a shot had been fired in or near a vehicle. When Deputies arrived they made contact with a male and female that belonged with the vehicle that was involved in the incident.
The male subject was bleeding and subsequently transported to the hospital. The female was initially handcuffed and detained but was later released when it was determined she and the injured male were victims in this case.
Res-ponders determined that the injured male had not been shot but did have other injuries, possibly caused by a weapon which accounted for the blood on him. A gun was observed and according to the victims, the suspect was trying to steal the vehicle they were in and threatening them with the gun.
As Deputies were processing the scene, they were notified of a male walking from a field and north on Blue Creek Road. Deputies located and detained the man who was identified and arrested on warrants out of the Billings Municipal Court.
The man was transported to the Yellowstone County Detention facility where during processing it was found that he had an injury to his leg. Medical staff at the facility felt this injury was possibly a gunshot wound so the subject was released from the jail, with a notice to appear in court for the warrants. He was then transported to a hospital for treatment.
Evidence has been collected from the subject, as well as the scene of the disturbance and the case will be forwarded to the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office for review and possible charges.
It is believed that all subjects involved in the incident have been located and identified. No names are being released by this office. At the time of this release a gun has not yet been located.
