Former Disbarred Billings Attorney Randy Scott Laedeke Indicted On (2) Counts of Wire Fraud

Billings, Montana 5/12/2016--//mna press/--Former disbarred Billings Attorney Randy Scott Laedeke was federally indicted with two (2) counts of Wire Fraud and faces 20 years in prison, $250,000 fine and 3 years of supervised release.

 

Randy Scott Laedeke is accused of devising a material scheme to obtain money by false and fraudulent pretenses and representations.  

 

This all started back in 2008.  Then attorney, Randy Scott Laedeke was hired to represent a client in a wrongful death civil suit.  Laedeke’s client was killed in a car accident back in 2005 according to Court Documents.

 

Finally in 2008, Laedeke was successful in settling clients case and won an awardment of $300,000.00  This settlement was regarding the death of William Newberg.

 

The Deceased has several living heirs including the wife of the deceased.  Randy Scott Laedeke was to keep $184,499.00 which was what he earned and was legal for him to deduct, which he did.

Once Randy Scott Laedeke took his money that he had legally earned, that left the amount of $115,401.90 of the settlement.   This was to be distributed among the remaining heirs of the deceased.  

Randy Laedeke then dispersed the amount of $49,903.90  to various heirs.  As a result of doing this, there was an amount of $65,497.10 left of the original settlement of $300,000.00

 

Laedeke then took this $65,497.10 and used that remaining settlement money and used that money for his personal expenses.  He spent this money between October 15, 2008 and March 31, 2010

 

Former disbarred attorney Randy Scott Laedeke on Jan 15, 2014 and on Jan 16, 2014 sent his clients an email from his email account rslhome@optimum.net  with a subject line titled, “Re: Settlement of Estate of W.N. Wrongful Death Proceeds to the email account of W.P. which according to court records, travelled by interstate by routing through a server that was located in Hicksville, NY, all which was a violation of 18 U.S.C.{} 1343.

 

Randy Scott Laedeke was disbarred by the Montana Supreme Court over this case, but the U.S. Magistrate Federal Court handed down a sealed indictment against randy Scott Laedeke.

 

Laedeke has a history of legal issues, back in June of 1999 he was arrested on misdemeanor charges, police officers who arrested him without probable cause and used excessive force during his arrest.  Laedeke then was seeking$547.832 in damages.
